Voice is not volume. It is the courage to say what one has come to know.

Ways to engage

How organizations work with us

A single experience

One 90-minute Formed Leader Experience for a cohort, executive team, retreat, or offsite.

A series

A sequence of experiences woven through a leadership program year, each building on the last.

A partnership

Pilot programs, facilitator development, collaborative design, and research or evaluation.

We partner with executive leadership teams, leadership development programs, universities, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, community leadership programs, foundations, and faith-based organizations.

The Formed Leader is intentionally designed as a complementary methodology rather than a replacement for existing leadership development. Because it focuses on how leadership learning is experienced and integrated, rather than prescribing another competency framework, it can be thoughtfully incorporated alongside a wide range of leadership models, educational programs, coaching approaches, and organizational contexts.

As the creator of this methodology and its founder-facilitator, Amy designed each of the formation experiences and is uniquely positioned to facilitate the methodology in its original form — an integration of professional musicianship and conducting, leadership practice, and guided reflection developed over more than twenty-five years. This direct experience will also inform the development of future facilitators as the methodology grows.

While the conceptual foundations are grounded in established scholarship across adult development, experiential learning, wisdom studies, leadership development, and contemplative practice, the methodology itself represents an emerging area for continued exploration. Like any new educational approach, its greatest potential will be realized through thoughtful implementation, careful evaluation, and ongoing refinement.

The next stage of this work is best pursued in collaboration with organizations, researchers, and leadership practitioners who see the potential in this work and are interested in exploring its possibilities together. Pilot programs, research partnerships, collaborative design, facilitator development, and empirical evaluation all offer opportunities to better understand how intentional formation experiences cultivate the human capacities from which wise leadership emerges.

The Formed Leader is offered not as a finished answer, but as a well-developed foundation for continued inquiry.

If this methodology resonates with you — if you see the potential in this work — I would welcome the opportunity to continue the conversation.

Whether through pilot programs, collaborative research, institutional partnerships, or simply the exchange of ideas, The Formed Leader has the greatest opportunity to mature through thoughtful collaboration with those committed to advancing leadership development. Together, we can explore, refine, and better understand how intentional formation experiences can help cultivate the wisdom today's leaders increasingly need.
